Topics of Class 6 Science Chapter 8 – Body Movements

Human Body and its Movements

The human body is made up of a lot of different parts. Each is in charge of doing a different job in the body. A group of tissues works together to make an organ. The skeletal system is the framework inside of our bodies. It is made up of cartilage and bones. It keeps us steady and helps us move around. Also, the skeletal system is made up of many different parts, such as the backbone, skull, shoulder and hip bones, chest bones, arm bones, and shinbone.

Socket and Ball Joints

According to the note in the Body Movements Class 6 lessons, there are different kinds of joints in one body. When a bone with a round end fits into the hole of another bone, the joint is called a “ball and socket joint.” With this type of joint, bones can move in any direction. The upper arm and shoulder joints are two examples.

Pivotal Joints

A pivotal joint is a joint that looks like a ball on a stick. It can be turned both horizontally and vertically. The joint where the backbone meets the skull is a key joint. It is a joint that lets things move around.

Hinge Joints

The hinge joints look a lot like the hinges that hold the doors together. It lets the joint extend and bend in a certain plane. One example is the joint in the elbow. It means that hinge joints can move along a straight line.

Fixed Joints

Class 6 Chapter 8 In Body Movements, the cranium is used as an example of a joint that doesn’t move. This means that when two bones meet, but can’t move, the joint is called “fixed.” If you move your upper jaw, you’ll see that only your lower jaw moves down, while your upper jaw stays put. This is the best example of a joint that doesn’t move. Our skull is also an example of a fixed joint since it is made up of several plates that are connected but can’t move.

Gait of Animals

Download the NCERT Solutions for Class 6 Science Chapter 8 to learn more about how animals walk and how they can move. For Class 6 Science Chapter 8, “gait” is the pattern that a body’s limbs move in when it moves on a solid surface. Depending on how their bodies are built, animals walk in different ways. The type of gait depends on the terrain, speed, the need to turn, and how much energy is used.

Earthworm

Earthworms can move with the help of their setae. Their bodies are made up of many rings that are joined together at the ends. Since they don’t have any bones, their muscles help them grow and shrink. This makes getting around even easier. Earthworms can move forward over short distances because their muscles can stretch and contract.

Snail

A snail moves around by moving its shell, which is its body’s outer skeleton. The fun part is that it isn’t made of bones. Snails use their heads to move around. The foot is thick and strong because it is made up of muscles. Under the muscles, mucus keeps them from sticking together so that they can move easily. Mucus also makes it less likely that you will get hurt when moving through sharp things.

Cockroach

Like most insects, cockroaches can walk. In addition, they can climb and fly. They have three sets of legs on each side, so they have a total of six legs. The legs help them move more quickly. The upper part of the body, or the outside, is made up of a hard skeleton made up of different parts. They are tied together, which helps them move even more.

Fish

The shape of a fish’s body makes it easy for it to move through the water. The way the body is shaped also helps it move. Since fishes’ heads and tails are shorter and thinner than the middle of their bodies, it helps them move through the water and move forward.

Birds

Birds have legs that help them walk and wings that help them fly. Some birds can even swim. Birds can fly because their bones are light and hollow, making them good for flight. They also don’t have a bladder for holding urine, which makes their bodies even lighter.

How Do Snakes Move?

Snakes move in loops or zigzags that look like the letter “S.” They don’t have many bones, but their muscles give them the power to move forward. Each loop is like a step that moves the other steps forward. The ribs, spine, and skin are all connected by muscles.
