What is the full form of DIG?
The DIG full form is Deputy Inspector General of Police. A police officer could become a DIG after moving up from the SSP rank. The IGP (Inspector-General of Police) is in charge of overseeing and supervising all of the police stations. The DIG helps the IGP do this.

There are two ways for people to get into the Indian Police Service:

- The other way is for State Police Service officers to get jobs by moving up in the ranks.
