Chapter 6: Isolation of Elements

The surface and centre of our planet have thousands of elements that are either free or in the form of ores. People have known about these elements since the beginning of time. There are a lot of different elements, like gold, silver, carbon, and sulphur, in ores, along with a lot of other elements, which are then separated using chemical reactions.

Chapter 7: The p-Block Elements

Scientists give different blocks of the periodic table different names based on how their electrons are set up. Based on these rules, the elements in groups 13 through 18 are called “p-block elements,” and their basic arrangement is ns2np1-6. All of these groups of elements are very important for the NCERT chemistry book 12th. The only group to have all three types of elements, metals, nonmetals, and metalloids, is the P-Block. Chapter 8: d and f-Block Elements

Chapter 11: Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers

Alcohols and phenols are one of the most important parts of organic chemistry. They are made when a -OH group replaces a hydrogen atom in an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon. Chapter 12: Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids

In organic chemistry, the carbonyl group (>C=O) is one of the most important functional groups. Aldehydes are molecules that have carbon and hydrogen attached to the carbonyl group. Ketones are made when two carbon atoms bond with a group. And if the group bonds with a -OH group, it is called a carboxylic acid.

Chapter 13: Amines

Like the other organic compounds we’ve talked about, amines are made when alkyl or aryl groups replace the hydrogen atoms in the ammonia (NH3) molecule. Amines are the building blocks of proteins and amino acids, which help our muscles and other body parts work well. Amines have an atom of nitrogen and a pair of free electrons.

The -NH₂ group is called the amino group because it has a function. A big part of the Class 12 NCERT chemistry book PDF is about reactions with amines and amides.

Chapter 14: Biomolecules

Even though biology and chemistry are two different fields of study, they are both found in the human body.
