What is the Full form of NMDC?
The NMDC full form is the National Mineral Development Corporation. NMDC Limited is India’s largest exporter and producer of iron ore, with its Chhattisgarh and Karnataka mines generating over 30 million tonnes of iron ore annually.

Functions of NMDC

- Maintaining its position as India’s leading iron producer, establishing itself as a premium steel maker, developing the company through the purchase and operation of iron ore, coal, and other mineral properties in India and abroad, and attaining high investor satisfaction.
Principal aims of NMDC
- Increase its mineral processing operations to meet the escalating demands of the domestic and international markets.
- To meet international requirements for value-added, cost-effectiveness, and per capita income
- Increasing iron ore production to 50 MTPA in 2018-19 and 67 MTPA in 2021-22.
- To establish the Nagarnar Steel Works.

- Iron Ore Mine at Bailadila, Kirandul Complex, District of South Bastar, Dantewada.
- Iron Ore Mine at Bailadila, Bacheli Complex, District of South Bastar, Dantewada.
- Donimalai Iron Ore Mine, Donimalai, Bellary district, Karnataka. It is suspended for more than a year due to a royalty dispute in December 2019.
- Project Diamond Mining, Majhgawan, Panna.
