What is the Full form of NASDAQ?

The NASDAQ full form is the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations. It is an American and Canadian stock exchange that allows investors to purchase equities on an automated, transparent, and swift computer server. The NASDAQ OMX Group is headquartered in New York, United States. It is the second largest stock exchange in terms of market capitalization, after the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange). It has been stylized as NASDAQ as of now.

History of NASDAQ

  • NASDAQ was founded by the NASD on 8 February 1971. (National Association of Securities Dealers). Currently, it was a computer bulletin board program.
  • In 1975, it created the IPO (initial public offering) that allowed development corporations to raise capital to establish their businesses.
  • The NASDAQ-100 Index was launched in 1985.
  • In 1996, it launched the first website for the market, www.nasdaq.com.
  • In 1998, the NASDAQ merged with the US Stock Exchange and founded the NASDAQ-AMEX Market Association.
  • The NASDAQ was restructured in 2000 to become the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, which was incorporated.
