What is the Full form of ICDS?
The ICDS full form is the Integrated Child Development Services. In India, the ICDS provides meals, preschool, basic education and healthcare, health check-ups, immunizations, and referral services to children under the age of six and their mothers. The plan was initiated in 1975, suspended in 1978 by the government of Morarji Desai, and then reinstituted by the Tenth Five-Year Plan. The program is also appropriate for breastfeeding and pregnant women.
