Types of DSC

The class of DSC to be applied is determined by the type of client and the reason for acquiring the DSC. There are three sorts of DSC:

Type 1 Certificates

These are provided to the individual or private user in order to check that the recipient’s identity and contact information match the explicitly specified topic area in the database of the certifying body.

Type 2 Certificates

These are issued to the organization’s director or authorized signatory for e-filing with the ROC ( Registrar of Companies). Type 2 certification is required for those who have to manually sign documents while filing ROC returns.

Type 3 Certificates

These certificates are utilized for online participation or bidding in India-wide online tenders and e-auctions. To engage in online bidding, sellers must possess a Type 3 digital signature certificate.

The benefits of DSC

  • It can be used to validate personal information and knowledge of a business entity when doing online transactions.
  • You can sign a digital PDF file and immediately email it to the recipient, rather than signing and scanning a hard copy of the file. In actuality, the owner of a digitally signed certificate is not required to physically submit a corporation for certification.
  • These documents are used everywhere in India for online participation or bidding at e-auctions and online tenders. To participate in online bidding, vendors must possess a digital certificate of Class 3.
