The AIDS full form is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. In such a state, a person’s immune system is insufficient to guard against any disease or infection. AIDS is typically the final stage of HIV infection, at which point the patient is unable to defend himself and spreads various infections. When AIDS is left untreated, it results in death.
A person with AIDS may suffer from thrush, pneumonia, tuberculosis, skin infections, CMV, and toxoplasmosis, among others. There is an increased likelihood of contracting a medical problem like cancer or brain damage.
