What is the Full form of NDRF?
NDRF full form is the National Disaster Response Force. As the name implies, it is a specialized force established under section 44 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, to provide a swift and specialized reaction to a natural or man-made emergency, such as an earthquake, flood, or landslide.

Currently, it comprises of 12 battalions, each with 1149 personnel (12 out of 16 battalions are operational). These battalions have bases in several Indian states. Staff members of the NDRF are trained and prepared to respond to calamitous events. The Indian Prime Minister is the NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) chairman. A deputed IPS officer serves as the Director-General of the NDRF. Each battalion is authorized to offer 45 staff and 18 self-contained professional search professionals to rescue teams, such as engineers, technicians, electricians, dog squads, and medical / paramedic personnel. Structure of NDRF

- Currently, the NDRF has 12 operational battalions, each containing 1149 soldiers.
It consists of three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), three Border Security Force (BSF), two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), two Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and two Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) from the Paramilitary Force of India.
