RR Vs DC Highlights, IPL 2023: Trent Boult Stars As Rajasthan Royals Beats Delhi Capitals by 57 Runs
IPL 2023 RR Vs DC Highlights Scorecard :
In TATA IPL 2023 Match 11, held at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Rajasthan Royals overcame a loss to Punjab Kings to overcome Delhi Capitals by 57 runs and earn their second victory of the competition and came on the top of ipl points table.
Before Shimron Hetmyer added the finishing polish to help RR reach a challenging 199/4, openers Jos Buttler (79 off 51) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (60 off 31) laid the groundwork. Trent Boult shone with the ball, finishing with 3/29 as RR defeated DC by 57 runs and held them to 142/9 because to their disciplined bowling performance.
DC was in trouble early in their 200-run chase after Impact Player Prithvi Shaw was beautifully caught behind by Samson off Boult in the opening over. Boult added a second wicket in as many balls when he LBW-trapped Manish Pandey with an excellent inswinger. The hitter reviewed it, but the replays showed three reds and the leg stump being struck by the ball. Boult came close to scoring a hat-trick when he outran Rilee Rossouw’s outside edge on the subsequent ball. Boult got things going with a two-wicket maiden.
Attempting to steady the ship, Warner and Rossouw added 36 runs in 30 balls. However, R Ashwin struck in the final over of the Powerplay, sending Rossouw back and shocking DC even more.
Match 11: RR Vs DC Player Of The Match
Yashasvi Jaiswal
In the eighth over, RR replaced Jos Buttler as their Impact Player by introducing Murugan Ashwin. The home team’s methodical bowling helped to keep things close. After 20 deliveries, Warner managed to hit a boundary off Boult when he dragged one behind square leg for a four. Lalit Yadav then added two more to the over by placing a four through backward point to bring the total off the over to 13. At the midway point, DC stumbled to 68/3.
Lalit Yadav gave the game some momentum by hitting two Yuzvendra Chahal off-balance reverse-swept fours. The fifty partnership was made possible by Warner and Yadav off 36 balls.
Boult struck to end the 64-run partnership by forcing Lalit to draw one onto the stumps after being smashed for a four off the previous ball, just as it appeared that Warner and Lalit were gaining momentum. Lalit played a beautiful, quick 38 off 24 but was unable to make a major play. Boult’s final stats of 4-1-29-3 were remarkable.
As the required run-rate increased and reached 15, Axar Patel left and stumped off Chahal in an effort to speed things up. Rovman Powell holed out off Ashwin to deep mid-wicket as he finished with outstanding figures of 4-0-25-2 as wickets continued to tumble despite Warner reaching his fifty off 44 balls.
When DC needed a miracle to reach 142/9 with 82 needed off 24 balls and four wickets in hand, it didn’t happen. The winning margin for RR was 57 runs.
Chahal, who finished with outstanding figures of 4-0-27-3, trapped Warner LBW in the last over after Warner had struck 65 off 55 balls.
David Warner, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, earlier decided to bowl after winning the toss. They replaced Mitchell Marsh, Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, and Aman Khan with Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Manish Pandey, and Khaleel Ahmed. As stand-ins, they designated Aman Khan, Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, Ishant Sharma, and Pravin Dubey.
Devdutt Padikkal and KM Asif were replaced by Dhruv Jurel and Sandeep Sharma in the side, while RR made two changes. They listed Donovan Ferreira, KM Asif, Akash Vashisht, Murugan Ashwin, and Navdeep Saini as their stand-ins.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the RR’s starting pitcher, got the game started right away by hitting three fours off the first three balls of the inning and a total of five fours in the first over. He hit the first ball for a pull for four, the second ball for a cut to third man, and the third ball for a drive through extra cover. He hit the following one over the middle after a dot and the next one over short third man to add five fours and 20 runs off the over.
Jos Buttler joined the fun and smacked three fours off Anrich Nortje’s second over. He started the over off with a four, smashing one through the covers off Nortje, followed by two more fours, one over short third man and one wide of midoff. The first two over’s 32 runs, all of which were from boundaries.
Jaiswal eventually recorded the first single of the inning when he poked a ball to midoff and quickly advanced for a single. Although giving up a four in the third over, Mukesh Kumar did well to keep the batters to only seven.
RR reached 50 in the fourth over as Buttler narrowly avoided being caught sprinting backwards at mid-on thanks to an outstanding effort from Nortje. In the fifth over, Warner introduced Axar to the attack, and Jaiswal immediately started hitting the all-rounder for three straight fours.
As RR reached 68/0 after the first six overs of the Powerplay, Nortje bowled a solid final over, conceding just five runs.
Jaiswal hit consecutive fours off of Axar to reach his fifty in fine form in just 25 balls. The two then pursued Kuldeep Yadav, scoring two fours and a six to reduce the total to 17.
DC received some comfort when Warner recalled Mukesh Kumar, who had Jaiswal caught and bowled for 60 after bowling off a top edge (31). The bowler was successful with the short ball. Mukesh bowled a fantastic over, surrendering just two runs while also taking Jaiswal’s wicket.
Kuldeep immediately gave RR their second wicket as he had Samson caught at long on. They also came close to scoring the third when Kuldeep forced a leading edge off Riyan Parag, but it missed the diving Kuldeep.
In the nine to twelve over period, the DC bowlers controlled the situation, giving up just 16 runs and taking two wickets.
When Buttler reached his fifty off just 32 balls, he broke the tie by pulling one off Axar over deep mid-wicket. However, in the following over, he lost Riyan Parag at the other end, who was eventually caught by Rovman Powell as RR managed just eight runs in the following two overs. By paddling one off Mukesh Kumar to long leg for a four and then hammering the next ball down the ground for back-to-back fours, Buttler upped the ante once more after hitting his maiden boundary after 20 balls.
Hetmyer finally found his rhythm, hitting a six and a four against Powell to bring the total down to 14. As they added 49 points off of 29 balls, Buttler and Hetmyer found their range. In order to break the stand, Mukesh Kumar ultimately removed Buttler for 79 (51), in the penultimate over. Dhruv Jurel got things going right away by hitting a six off the first ball. With two sixes from Nortje in the last over, Hetmyer added the finishing touches as RR scored 16 runs to finish on 199/4 from 20 overs.
Hetmyer still hasn’t lost after 39 games. In the final five overs, RR scored 69/1.
As their Impact Player, DC introduced Prithvi Shaw, who opened the game with Warner. Shaw moved aside for Khaleel Ahmed.
RR Vs DC IPL 2023 Match 11 Scorecard
200 Was never going to be easy for Delhi Capitals an in-form RR Bowling unit. DC failed to take advantage of the powerplay and also kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The decision to bowl Trent Boult in the powerplay did wonders for Trent Boult.
